Music has been scientifically proven to increase the intellectual and emotional capabilities of young children. At MusicNotes, we believe that it's never too early to uncover creativity.
Our 'Early Years' workshops invite pupils and teachers to learn together...and top of that, it's really good fun! The sessions develop core music reading & collaborative performance skills - suitable for pupils aged 3 - 8 (Nursery to Year 3).
We teach our young musicians to read via standard Western notation, enabling them to then translate notes to instrument or voice. The basics of music theory will be combined with props, song, and dance - thereby promoting creative musical development.
Each activity is accompanied by a variety of related tasks, following the general blueprint of: Discussion - Development- Performance.
☆ Recorder is FUN: Specifically aimed towards Foundation Phase and Early Lower Key Stage 2, this package allows whole classes to collectively learn music. We have provisions for 30 descant recorders. accompanied by a uniquely designed curriculum - encompassing the fundamentals of group music (notation & rhythm reading, repertoire & ensemble playing, aural & theory skills).
☆ Sing Me a Story: These workshops are inspired by the prominent composer, Susie Hare - using songs, actions, percussion, and props to engage the 'whole-brain'. Each song is accompanied by a set of related activities, stimulating thoughtful discussion surrounding different curriculum-based topics. Using the combination of movement, dance, percussion, and voice - these sessions are both creative and challenging, nurturing core developmental skills.
