Our Enhanced Performance workshops not only improve basic musical skills, but also offer a friendly and relaxed environment, for children to enjoy music-making.
All pupils are welcomed (from beginner to advanced), as the music is specially tailored for each group - by our resident MA Composer. At the end of every half term, each group will have the opportunity to showcase their talents in a concert (i.e. for an assembly / evening show). The children themselves, will be responsible for programme planning and delivery of this performance.
These packages are best suited alongside regular weekly tuition, in place of PPA, or as an after-school / lunch-time club. Specialist groups can be arranged on request, and these workshops are available immediately:
☆ Singing is FUN - Singing is often considered the most popular and accessible way to engage young children with music, perhaps for one simple reason: everyone can sing! Whether you require weekly hymn practise, have a some pop enthusiasts desperate to perform, or simply want to re-start the school choir - MusicNotes are at hand to lead, orchestrate, and accompany your singers!
☆ Piano-Time - If your school contains a cupboard filled with dusty and unused keyboards, then Piano-Time could be for you! This uniquely-designed programme joins both note-reading and music theory, in a group lesson where children will learn a mixture of of popular and classical chart hits.
☆ Flute, Clarinet & Sax Choir - This package can be run as small ensemble or large chamber groups, with its main aim to improve the sight-reading of wind players. Our resident Wind Tutor is a Post-Grade 8 Tripling Musician, with a BMus (Hons) degree in Clarinet Performance. Her expertise and passion for performance practice, provides an ideal learning environment for these budding musicians.
☆ School Orchestra - This has proved our most popular package. In just one year, we took our first Primary School Orchestra to the 'Music for Youth: Newport Regional Festival', where they were awarded a 'Highly Commended' Certificate. The 'Orchestra' club is for any musician (beginner to advanced) who plays any instrument! The repertoire will vary from Classical, to Jazz, to Pop, to Film & TV. With an MA Composer to hand, we can arrange an music of your choice.
☆ Theory Club - these session are planned in half-term segments, and will help teach beginners the basics of music theory, gradually working through resources and the 'Music Theory for Young Musicians' tutor books. The aim of these sessions is to have the class 'test ready', with the goal of Grade 1 theory (or higher if needed). If there are several intermediate or advanced Music Theory Pupils, this club can be split into mixed-ability groups - as we have two professionally accredited Music Theory tutors on board.
